The Storm...

So back to the topic of over protective mothers. So I understand we all want what's best for our children; that's our job, right? However, I happen to believe parents, and mother's in particular, are taking this a step too far. Case in point: A mother in Utah (seriously..need I say more right there? Utah..) is sueing the high school football coach on her son's behalf for 'Child abuse'. Did I mention this mother is also a lawyer?(once again, need I say more?) I heard this and I was immediately appalled! I seriously thought, "well this is the beginning of the end of football". NOw first off I'd like to point out that football is not a mandatory thing in high school. LAST time I checked it was on a volunteer/try out basis wasn't it? Pretty sure I didn't play any football to get my diploma. Next, did you not realize that when those boys play they are in full pads? And you know why that it? Because football is a FULL CONTACT SPORT!...just in case you missed that memo.
Now I'd also like to point out that the son in question here has made no statement. Know why? Cause he's embarrassed of his mother. He knows this is bullshit. Part of a coach's job is to motivate those kids! Fire them up! Teach them how to lead and win on the field, and build character so that they can grow up and implement this knowledge into their every day lives as men. So what becomes of it when you're going to take away half of the point in the first damn place! A coach is going to grab a player buy the shoulder pads, there going to get smacked in the helmet, they're going to get patted on the ass, and they are going to get yelled at. For those of you applying the phrase "no one has a right to put their hands on my child" please read above where I list how this is not a requirement of high school. It's football. And on a side note, they're closer to adults than children. Just saying.
All I can say is this; if my son should decide to play football (right now he has informed me he wants to play every sport under the sun lol) and I find out theyre playing Yanni in the locker room, drinking herbal tea at half time, and talking about their "feelings" after the game I am going to have a shit fit. And there you have it.
